<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Growing Conditions</h2>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Pothos can tolerate a wide range of light levels, but they prefer 3-6 hours of bright, indirect light. Keep them away from more than 2-3 hours of direct sunlight, which can scorch their leaves. </p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Water your pothos thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Be careful not to overwater, as pothos are prone to root rot. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. They can also be grown in water, if you&#8217;re growing your pothos in water, make sure to keep water clean and fresh by changing it every week.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Pothos can grow in a variety of soils, but they prefer a <a href="https://karaketgarden.com/product/aerated-potting-mix/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><span class="has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color"><strong>well-draining, nutrient-rich potting mix</strong></span></a>. Avoid using heavy soils that can retain too much water.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Pothos prefers temperatures between 16-29°C. They are sensitive to cold drafts, so keep them away from areas where AC could be blowing on them directly.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="640" height="828" src="https://karaketgarden.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/pothos-1.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-3268" srcset="https://karaketgarden.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/pothos-1.jpeg 640w, https://karaketgarden.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/pothos-1-480x621.jpeg 480w" sizes="(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 640px, 100vw" /></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Upkeep</h2>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Feed your pothos with a <a href="https://karaketgarden.com/product/osmocote-fertilizer/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><span class="has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color"><strong>balanced fertilizer</strong></span></a> once every couple of months. Regular pruning will help keep your pothos looking full and bushy. Trim off any yellow or brown leaves, and pinch back the tips of the vines to encourage new growth.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Pothos are easy to propagate. Simply cut a vine just below a node (where the leaves are attached), and place it in a jar of water or in moist soil. Roots will begin to form within a few weeks.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Overall, pothos is a versatile and attractive <a href="https://karaketgarden.com/shop-plants/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><span class="has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color"><strong>indoor plant</strong></span></a> that can thrive in a variety of conditions. With the right care, it can add beauty and health benefits to any space.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">If you&#8217;re looking for a stunning and easy-to-care-for <a href="https://karaketgarden.com/shop-plants/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><span class="has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color"><strong>indoor plant</strong></span></a>, the <a href="https://karaketgarden.com/product/peace-lily/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><span class="has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color"><strong>peace lily</strong></span></a> is an excellent choice! With its <a href="https://karaketgarden.com/product/floralife-leafshine-spray/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><span class="has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color"><strong>glossy</strong></span></a>, dark green leaves and elegant white flowers, the peace lily is sure to add a touch of natural beauty to any room in your home or office.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">One of the best things about the peace lily is that it&#8217;s relatively low-maintenance. It thrives in bright, indirect light and can tolerate a range of humidity levels. Plus, it&#8217;s a great air purifier, which means it can help improve the air quality in your indoor space.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="640" height="986" src="https://karaketgarden.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/compressed-peace-lily-1.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-3235" srcset="https://karaketgarden.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/compressed-peace-lily-1.jpeg 640w, https://karaketgarden.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/compressed-peace-lily-1-480x740.jpeg 480w" sizes="auto, (min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 640px, 100vw" /></figure></div>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Another benefit of the peace lily is that it&#8217;s non-toxic to humans and pets, as long as it&#8217;s not ingested. This makes it a great choice for households with children and pets.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Overall, the peace lily is a fantastic indoor plant that is sure to delight and enhance any space. With its stunning foliage, elegant flowers, and air-purifying properties, the peace lily is a must-have for any indoor gardening enthusiast.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="640" height="853" src="https://karaketgarden.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/compressed-peace-lily-2-.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-3236" srcset="https://karaketgarden.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/compressed-peace-lily-2-.jpeg 640w, https://karaketgarden.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/compressed-peace-lily-2--480x640.jpeg 480w" sizes="auto, (min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 640px, 100vw" /></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Light and Water</h2>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Light: Peace lilies prefer 3-6 hours of bright, indirect light, but they can also tolerate low light conditions. If you notice that your peace lily&#8217;s leaves are turning yellow or brown, it may be getting too much direct sunlight. Move it to a spot where it receives more shade.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Water: Peace lilies like to be kept evenly moist but not waterlogged. Water your peace lily once-twice a week and adjust the frequency depending on the temperature, humidity, and light conditions. You can also check the moisture level of the soil by sticking your finger about an inch deep into the soil. If it feels dry, it&#8217;s time to water. Always water deeply and let soil drain out completely to avoid root rot.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Temperature and Humidity</h2>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Temperature: Peace lilies prefer a warm and consistent temperature, ideally between 18-27°C. They can tolerate temperatures outside of this range, but sudden changes in temperature or extended periods of extreme heat or cold can cause stress to the plant. In general, if you&#8217;re comfortable in a room, your peace lily should be comfortable as well.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Humidity: Peace lilies prefer high humidity levels, between 50% to 70%. If the air in your home is dry, you can increase the humidity around your peace lily by misting it with a spray bottle or placing a humidifier nearby. Alternatively, you can place your peace lily on a pebble tray filled with water.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="640" height="960" src="https://karaketgarden.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/compressed-peace-lily-4-.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-3238" srcset="https://karaketgarden.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/compressed-peace-lily-4-.jpeg 640w, https://karaketgarden.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/compressed-peace-lily-4--480x720.jpeg 480w" sizes="auto, (min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 640px, 100vw" /></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Upkeep</h2>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Fertilizer: You can feed your peace lily once a month during the growing season (spring and summer) with couple tablespoons <a href="https://karaketgarden.com/product/osmocote-fertilizer/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><span class="has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color"><strong>balanced pellet fertilizer</strong></span></a>.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Pruning: Remove any dead or yellow leaves as soon as possible to prevent the spread of disease. You can also prune back the entire plant by up to one-third of its size in the spring to encourage new growth. To prevent wilting, avoid cutting too many leaves at once.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Repotting: Peace lilies prefer to be slightly root-bound, so you don&#8217;t need to repot them often. However, if you notice that the roots are growing out of the drainage holes or the soil is not draining properly, it&#8217;s time to repot. Choose a pot that is approximately two inches larger than the current one, and use a <a href="https://karaketgarden.com/product/aerated-potting-mix/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><span class="has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color"><strong>well-draining potting mix</strong></span></a>. Water your peace lily thoroughly after repotting, and avoid fertilizing it for at least a month.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size" id="mntl-sc-block_1-0">Getting your watering schedule right for your&nbsp;<a href="https://karaketgarden.com/product/snake-plant-yellow-large/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong><span class="has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color">snake plants</span></strong></a> is crucial, even to these hard-to-kill plants. Snake plants are hardy in various growing conditions indoor or outdoor and thrive on neglect, however they can show signs of stress when their needs aren&#8217;t met. There are several aspects to snake plant&#8217;s ideal watering schedule, read through this article to learn about caring for the snake plant and keeping this tropical plant well and hydrated.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://karaketgarden.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Compressed-snake-plant-2.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-3189" width="636" height="953" srcset="https://karaketgarden.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Compressed-snake-plant-2.jpeg 636w, https://karaketgarden.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Compressed-snake-plant-2-480x719.jpeg 480w" sizes="auto, (min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 636px, 100vw" /></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="mntl-sc-block_1-0-2">Time to Water Your Snake Plants</h2>

<p class="has-medium-font-size" id="mntl-sc-block_1-0-3">The principle for both indoor and outdoor snake plants, they should be watered once their soil has completely dried out. In warmer temperature, you can expect to be watering your snake plant more often due to increased heat and light. For example, you may only need to water your snake plant once every two-three weeks if they&#8217;re grown in cool indoor settings and once a week if they&#8217;re grown outdoor under partial sun area. In an area with warm temperature year round, you may maintain a consistent watering schedule for your snake plant.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size" id="mntl-sc-block_1-0-5">If you are wondering whether it is time to water your plant, remember that it is generally better to underwater a snake plant than to overwater it. The easiest most effective way to find out when it&#8217;s time to water is to poke your fingers couple inches into the soil to ensure that it is fully dry before watering.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Watering Schedule for Different Growing Conditions</h2>

<p class="has-medium-font-size" id="mntl-sc-block_1-0-9">While snake plants are known to be able to tolerate drought, the amount of water each plant needs will vary depending on its growing conditions. Whether they are grown indoors or outdoors in warm and dry climates will affect the quality of light, temperature and humidity. Furthermore, soil type and the type of potting container it&#8217;s planted in should all be taken into consideration when figuring out snake plant’s water requirements.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="600" height="774" src="https://karaketgarden.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/KGFinal_Home2.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1558" srcset="https://karaketgarden.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/KGFinal_Home2.jpg 600w, https://karaketgarden.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/KGFinal_Home2-480x619.jpg 480w" sizes="auto, (min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 600px, 100vw" /></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="mntl-sc-block_1-0-11">Light</h2>

<p class="has-medium-font-size" id="mntl-sc-block_1-0-12">The amount of light&nbsp;a snake plant receives is the most common factor determining how often it will need to be watered. Snake plants can withstand a wide range of lighting conditions, from bright light to low light, but their watering schedule will need to be adjusted based on how much light they are receiving. Plants grown with lots of light and air flow will need to be watered more often as soil can dry out more quickly, while plants growing in low light won’t need as much water as soil dries out slower in such condition. If you are growing more than one snake plants in different places in your home, you may need to water one more or less often than the other based on their different growing conditions.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="mntl-sc-block_1-0-14">Temperature and Humidity</h2>

<p class="has-medium-font-size" id="mntl-sc-block_1-0-15">Snake plants grow well in a wide range of temperature and humidity conditions, but growers should be aware of the impact different temperatures and humidity levels will have on their plants&#8217; watering requirements. Generally, a plant grown in warmer temperatures will require more water than a plant grown in colder temperatures, while a plant grown in high humidity will require less water than a plant grown in dry conditions. </p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size" id="mntl-sc-block_1-0-15">A client once told us that she hasn&#8217;t watered her snake plant for six months and it&#8217;s still thriving with new growths, it really depends on each plant and its growing conditions, for this particular case the snake plant is grown indoor with AC and humidifier on throughout the day. A snake plant in hot and dry conditions will generally require more water than a plant in cooler and moist conditions.&nbsp;</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="mntl-sc-block_1-0-17">Soil Type</h2>

<p class="has-medium-font-size" id="mntl-sc-block_1-0-18">Snake plants should be planted in&nbsp;<a href="https://karaketgarden.com/product/aerated-potting-mix/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong><span class="has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color">well-draining soil</span></strong></a> for their ability to drain off excess water after each watering which prevents root rot. However, because of their ability to thrive in various growing conditions, they can also be planted in loam soil that is not as well-draining and they will not need to be watered as often.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="mntl-sc-block_1-0-20">Potting Container</h2>

<p class="has-medium-font-size" id="mntl-sc-block_1-0-21">Different&nbsp;types of pot&nbsp;that a snake plant grows in can also affect how often it needs to be watered. For example, <a href="https://karaketgarden.com/product/tucson-terracotta-t-series/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong><span class="has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color">terracotta</span></strong></a> and <a href="https://karaketgarden.com/product/cement-pot-natural-30x30cm/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong><span class="has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color">cement pots</span></strong></a> absorb moisture from the soil which dries out the soil faster than a plastic pot. Generally, a pot with drainage holes is recommended as it drains away excess water preventing soggy soil which causes root rot. The most important thing to keep in mind when watering your snake plant is to always water thoroughly to saturate all part of soil and let water drain out completely each time you water to <a href="https://karaketgarden.com/product/2294/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong><span class="has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color">avoid root rot</span></strong></a>.</p>
